I Succeed or I Learn, but I Never Fail

Hello! I’m Doug, located in Greater Seattle, WA.

Allow Me To Introduce Myself

I’m an energetic developer who aspires to master the web. I am also a seasoned IT professional with more than 25 years bringing technology solutions to the healthcare industry. After a flirtation with retirement, I am reentering the marketplace ... feeling unproductive was not for me. With a new beginning, a new direction seemed appropriate, so I decided to do what has given me the most gratification; developing solutions with software. Nothing is more gratifying than putting a working solution in the hands of a grateful user.

I'm not merely about work. My wife and I can be found worshipping together most Sunday mornings. Our two Australian Shepherds are a blessing and a kick. Of course that entails fetch, walks and dog parks. For music; I like Classic Rock, Country (newer), Jazz and Classical. For reading; it's the Bible, theology, philosophy and biographies, and sometimes poetry and novels. On the activity side it's; hiking, bicycling, skiing, camping, auto racing (as a spectator) and international travel.

My current and proposed trajectory takes me through mastery of building web sites and increasing my knowledge, skills and abilities in:

My location preferences, in order of priority are, Greater Seattle, Washington State, Idaho, Oregon and USA. I can work remotely in the broader area or the right package would entice me to relocate. I don"t mind light to moderate travel, but am not interested in being a weekly road warrior. As they say, "Been there; done that." The determinant between full employment and freelance would be the overall package. I've worked in both environments and both have their draws.

Now Is A Great Time To Contact Me

Thank You

You have seen examples of my work. It isn't everything I have done, but it is representative. If you have decided I can help you, let’s discuss it further. My contact information will facilitate the process.

In order of importance, I am looking for a challenging position within a collegial environment that offers a good work/personal life balance and a competitive compensation package, be it in contractual or employment model. In light of my past experience, I think I bring more to the table than you might expect and I play well with others, including heavy-weights with more experience, from whom I can learn.
